Job Description

Duration: 11-12 Months Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Product Design Engineer to join a Product Design Engineering (PDE) team focused on developing advanced consumer wearable products, including Smart Glasses (SG) and Augmented Reality (AR) devices. In this role, you will lead the mechanical design and development process from concept through production, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering and design teams. Responsibilities: Drive the development of new mechanical design technologies and solutions for wearable consumer electronic products. Make critical contributions to system architecture, integration, and manufacturing process selection. Perform thermal simulation, structural analysis, design verification, and wearability assessments (e.g., comfort). Partner with cross-functional teams including Industrial Design (ID), Electrical Engineering (EE), Systems Engineering, DFX, tooling, and manufacturing. Support product development throughout the lifecycle, from early concept through production. Interface with overseas suppliers and contract manufacturers to manage design intent and high-volume production readiness. Maintain strong communication and rapport across internal teams and stakeholders. . Experience (Required): Minimum 7–8 years of experience in product design, with at least 5 years specifically in consumer electronics. Proven experience designing and shipping high-volume consumer electronic products. Exceptional 3D modeling skills, preferably with NX. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, CNC machining, and post-processing techniques. Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and design teams. Prior engagement with overseas suppliers and contract manufacturers. Experience (Desired): Experience developing Smart Glasses and/or AR products. Knowledge of consumer-grade optical systems. Expertise with structural and thermal simulation. Education: Bachelor's or degree in or a related field or equivalent work experience.
