Job Description
TITLE: Mechanical Supervisor
POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for day to day mechanical maintenance operations as well as spare parts inventory and requisitions. Also, to ensure that the plant maintenance is conducted in a cost effective and safe manner that will maximize equipment uptime.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ten (10) years' experience in a manufacturing environment in a maintenance roleA college degree or vocational degree may substitute for two (2) years' experience and two (2) years supervisory experienceMust have good communications skills.Must be computer literate in Microsoft OfficeMust be able to multi-taskMust have working knowledge of electronic systemsMust possess welding, machining, and millwright skillsEnsure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.Other skills/abilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of Mechanical Maintenance TechniciansResponsible to assist in overseeing Maintenance contractor workAbility to perform all duties of Maintenance Technician as outlined in Job Description 02Ability to fill in for Sr. Maintenance Manager in their absenceEnsures preventative, predictive Maintenance schedules are metTrain employees on computerized AMMC maintenance programsResponsible for day to day guidance of seeing that maintenance issues obtain safe, swift, corrective actions in line with the original equipment manufacturers guidelines and assisting the maintenance team to resolve repetitive equipment failuresMaintain supplies, tools, work order parts, and emergency orders, etcCoordinates with Production, QA, and Logistics on maintenance during downtimesAssists in troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of mechanical equipmentEnsures all equipment is maintained and in good working conditionEnsures maintenance technicians wear all safety equipment and follow good housekeeping policiesMaintains professional certifications and ensures maintenance employees are properly trainedPerforms other duties as directed by the Sr. Maintenance ManagerComplies with all SQF proceduresReports any food safety problems to a member of management or SF Practitioner
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.Inside and outside environments apply.Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.Subject to vibration, exposure, fluctuating movement of the body.Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or explosives.Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.Subject to oils and other cutting fluids via touch or air.Air density conditions causing the use of a respirator.
