Disaster Relief - Virginia Beach, VA

When disaster strikes, every story matters. Operation Blessing (OB) is looking for a Media Liaison to join our Global Disaster Relief team and capture the powerful stories of help, hope, and transformation happening in communities around the world. This is a hands-on media role for a talented storyteller who can move quickly, work under pressure, and find the human story in the middle of a crisis. You'll deploy with our team capturing compelling video, photography, interviews, and testimonials that show the real impact of humanitarian aid. Your work will help bring these stories to audiences through the 700 Club, Club 700 Hoy Integrated Media, and other ministry platforms. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to OB's Biblical mission to extend a helping hand in Christ's name to meet physical and spiritual needs.

The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $65,000 annually. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on a combination of education, relevant experience, and demonstrated skills aligned with the role requirements.

What You'll Do

You'll capture and produce compelling stories of Operation Blessing's disaster relief and humanitarian efforts, often deploying within hours to disaster areas. From shooting and editing video to conducting interviews, producing stand-up, photographing events, and delivering footage in real time, you'll help tell stories that showcase the impact of OB's work and its partnerships with churches and communities around the world.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in television production, print journalism, communications, and/or public relations
  • Proficient in professional video production, including shooting, lighting, audio, and editing for both web and television broadcast
  • Strong working knowledge of mirrorless and professional camera operation (e.g. Sony FX3,FX6 and Sony Aphas), along with broadcast audio systems
  • Skilled in remote live broadcasting using TVU or LiveU systems
  • Advanced editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro; experience with Adobe After Effects and audio mixing/editing
  • Experience in still photography and writing compelling feature stories for print or web
  • English is required; fluency in Spanish strongly preferred for fieldwork within Hispanic communities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with ability to learn new technology/software
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Culturally sensitive and respectful when working with diverse communities in crisis zones
  • Emotionally resilient with the ability to work under pressure and remain calm during emergencies
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as an effective member of a team in low-infrastructure environments
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a variety of climates and austere environments
  • Able to stand for extended periods, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physically strenuous tasks
  • Willingness to deploy on short notice and remain in the field for extended periods of time during disaster relief operations domestically and internationally
  • Comfortable working in challenging living conditions, which may include limited access to electricity and clean water
  • Ability to make business-related purchases using a company purchasing card
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record and valid passport
  • Personal vehicle required for use in non-disaster settings
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Demonstrated life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with OB's non-profit Christian mission
