Job Summary

Join a Team That Makes a Difference

At the Center for Women's Health and Wellness, our team provides compassionate, comprehensive care in a welcoming environment built on privacy, trust, and respect. Our expert providers specialize in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Urogynecology, Infertility, and LGBTQ+ care. We are dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized care to patients throughout every stage of life.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant who enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients, supporting providers, and contributing to a positive, team-oriented clinical environment.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality patient care and keeping our clinical operations running smoothly. You will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to support patients throughout their care experience.

This position combines hands-on clinical care, patient education, administrative responsibilities, and team support. You will also serve as a resource to junior Medical Assistants, helping answer questions and participating in onboarding and training.

The ideal candidate is confident working in a busy clinical setting, demonstrates sound clinical judgment, and is organized, adaptable, and committed to providing exceptional patient service.

Schedule & Locations

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, onsite position with a day-shift schedule:

Wednesday-Friday: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM at 15 Old Rollinsford Road, Dover

Monday-Tuesday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, primarily at 770 Central Avenue

We make every effort to keep employees in their assigned practice and primary location. However, flexibility is important in this role, and you may occasionally be asked to float to other practice locations or departments within Wentworth Health Partners to provide coverage during staffing shortages or other extenuating circumstances.

In this role, you will:

  • Room patients, prepare examination rooms and equipment, and obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and other clinical information.
  • Interview patients and accurately document medical information in the electronic health record.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and other clinical needs.
  • Perform point-of-care testing, collect and process laboratory specimens, and perform phlebotomy when competency is demonstrated.
  • Administer immunizations, as applicable, with appropriate certification or experience and provider supervision.
  • Provide patient education and reinforce provider instructions regarding treatments, medications, diets, and follow-up care.
  • Support scheduling, telephone communication, insurance forms, and other general office functions.
  • Serve as a patient advocate and liaison with other departments while providing compassionate, professional customer service.
  • Maintain immunization inventory and monitor expiration dates.
  • Participate in departmental quality, safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
  • Support and mentor junior Medical Assistants by answering questions and assisting with onboarding and training.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or medical field experience

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in Medical Assisting
  • Certified Medical Assistant (national certification)
