Qualifications and requirements
A Medical Assistant (MA) who excels in this role:
- Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a provider or nurse.
- Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
- Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
- Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
- Administers patient injections and takes patients' vitals.
- Obtains authorization for consultations, referrals, procedures, and ABNs per policies.
- Evaluates chart documentation for coding purposes, applies official guidelines, and determines and applies appropriate codes. Documents all charges on the fee ticket to ensure 100% capture of all charges.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $30.62
