Position Summary:
The Well Care Medical Assistant supports providers and clinic nursing staff in delivering preventive and wellness-focused care to patients across the lifespan. This role assists with patient intake, routine screenings, immunization support, and health maintenance activities that promote early detection and overall well-being. The Well Care Medical Assistant prepares exam rooms, manages supplies, coordinates patient flow, and ensures accurate and timely documentation. Working collaboratively with the care team, the position enhances clinic efficiency and patient experience through clear communication, organization, and a patient-centered approach aligned with Trinity Health's standards for high-quality preventive care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and room patients for wellness, preventive, and routine health maintenance visits, obtaining histories and completing preliminary assessments.
- Perform delegated clinical tasks such as vital signs, point of care testing, immunization support, and documentation within scope and department protocols.
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and compliance with infection control standards.
- Support scheduling, referrals, follow up communication, and patient education to promote adherence to preventive care plans.
- Accurately document clinical information and maintain confidentiality in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Assist with operational needs including occasional travel to satellite locations.
