We're looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become part of our dynamic team at University Gastroenterology; a busy specialty practice located within the UT Medical Center. Location: Knoxville, TN • UT Gastroenterology

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

What You'll Do

Serve as a trusted resource for patients by answering questions and assisting with needs over the phone.
Educate patients on procedure preparation and provide clear instructions.
Process prescription refills and review medical records for urgent requests.
Support clinic operations by rooming patients and documenting information in the electronic health record (EHR).
Schedule tests and coordinate with other medical facilities.
Triage inbound clinical calls and respond according to established protocols.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and practice policies in all interactions

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Licensure: LPN (if applicable)
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum 1 year in a medical setting (physician office experience preferred)
Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation
Skills: Strong communication (oral & written), patient-focused approach, and ability to multitask in a busy environment
