Kids First Health Care is a mission-driven nonprofit providing high-quality pediatric and adolescent primary care to children and young adults ages 0 to 21 through community clinics and school-based health centers in Adams County.

About Your RoleThis is a hands-on, full-time position supporting clinical operations within a pediatric care setting. The Medical Assistant I (MA I) works collaboratively with providers and care teams to support patient visits, assist with basic clinical procedures, and ensure a positive, efficient patient experience.
This role is ideal for someone early in their Medical Assistant career who is eager to learn, contribute to a team, and grow within a mission-driven healthcare organization.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs. Compensation Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour (depending on experience) Essential Duties and Major ResponsibilitiesPatient Experience & Clinical Support
- Prepare patients for visits and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, including immunizations and specimen collection (as trained).
- Provide patient education and follow-up instructions as directed.
Patient Access & Front Office Support
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Assist with check-in, paperwork, and appointment scheduling.
- Answer and return phone calls and support patient communication.
Clinical Systems & Documentation
- Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Assist with documentation, lab requisitions, and immunization records.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of required documentation.
- Clean and prepare exam rooms and clinical areas.
- Maintain basic supply inventory and restock as needed.
- Follow safety and infection control protocols, including biohazard disposal.
- Work collaboratively with providers, staff, and care teams to support patient care goals.
- Participate in training and onboarding activities.
- Travel between clinics is required.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant (MA) Certificate required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1+ year of relevant experience required.
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred.
- Experience working with pediatric patients preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow directions while demonstrating initiative and reliability.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care to underserved populations.
