Medical Assistant Lead

TheMedical AssistantLeadwill perform clinical and administrative duties under the administrator's direction and support the team, other leads, and providers.

PrimaryDuties &Responsibilities:

• Oversee medical assistants in their duties and ensure that competencies and proficiencies are completed.

• Prepare employee schedules, approve time sheets, and requesttime off.

• Run stent report monthly and determine if stent was removed, exchanged,or pendingfollow-up.

• Maintain and manage all medical equipment.

• Order office and medical supplies through IOS inventory.

• Exercise problem-solving andconflict-resolutionskills when handling patients.

• Communication with drug representatives.

• Manage CPR renewal.

• Oversee CLIA and CLIA inspections.

• Prepare monthly calendar for rendering provider.

• Provide assignments (side work) for medical assistants and ensure it is being completed.

• Complete monthly back-office inspectionanddocument code box and oxygen tanks are in working order.

• Assist team and lead members when needed.

• Create various workflows, policies,and procedures to enhance staff.

• Provide excellent customer/patient services and ensure staff is as well.

• Provide in-services and training to staff.

• Provide monthly meetings with staff to address issues and concerns.

• Oversee all medicalassistants'andproviders'PAQ, tasks, schedules,and portal messages.

• Attend meetings as requested.

• Exercise problem-solving andconflict-resolutionskills when handling patients.

• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacyfollowingoffice policies and procedures and HIPAA privacy and security requirements,andexercise utmost discretion in patient and staff interactions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.

• Completion ofa Medical Assistant program ortwoyears of Medical Assistant experience in a medical clinic is required; Urology experience is a plus.(All locations except for AZ).

• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program with license or certification requiredand will be verified prior to employment(AZ Only).

• Minimum of two years of leadership experience required; supervisory preferred.

• Urology experience is a plus.

• Ability to type 40 words per minute.

Travel:

• As part of your position's requirements, you are expected to travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Proficiency in triaging patients, phlebotomy, administering injections,obtaining vitals, and processing specimens.

• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology,ICD-9,andCPT-4 Codes.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal & written.

• Proficient computer software and database skills.

• Comfortable speaking on the phone and working in a fast-paced environment.

• Very comfortable asking probing questions to patients.

• Must demonstrate a caring, compassionate, and patient attitude.

• Maintain HIPAA compliance.

• Multitasking and proactive problem-solving.

• A high level of professionalism.

• Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements for the Job:

• Must be able to listen, sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk throughout the day.

• Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

• Must be in good physical condition to maneuver patients when necessary.
