We are constantly growing and now seeking a Medical Insurance Coordinator to join our Billing team in the San Luis Obispo office. Not Remote
Work schedule: Full-time hours, Monday through Friday onsite in San Luis Obispo office
Main Duties:
- Verify Insurance benefits, request insurance authorization for services, and update patient charts.
- Communicate with patients, insurances, MD offices, clinical staff and co-workers to verify, confirm, and obtain information that may affect billing.
- Cover for teammates with similar responsibilities when they are on vacation or out sick.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of insurance eligibility, benefit verification and authorizations preferred
- Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook email/calendar
- Excellent telephone and customer service skills
- Self-directed and resourceful with ability to handle multiple tasks
- Detail oriented with ability to solve problems, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
- Flexibility in the work environment and ability to deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events
- Team player with a professional, positive attitude and ability to cover and assist teammates as needed
