Job Description
Digestive Disease Consultants is a busy gastroenterology practice located in Altamonte Springs with satellite locations in Lake Mary and Oviedo. We are seeking a dynamic, organized and organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our team.Position Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year experience with medical billing and collections.
- Accounts receivable skills.
- Strong understanding of insurance plans and contracts.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Multitask with accuracy and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Posting from EOBs and ERAs to patient charts.
- Complying with medical coding guidelines and policies.
- Receiving and reviewing patients' charts and documents for verification and accuracy.
- Insurance claim preparation and submission.
- Billable claim determinations, corrections, and submissions.
- Account processing.
- Information analysis.
- Authorization and diagnosis code verification.
- Prepare and run reports.
- Oversee patient accounts.
- Answer patient questions and advise them on their insurance coverage and benefits.
- Generate patient statements and establish repayment plans with patients.
- Contact insurance billing departments to address and correct billing errors and omissions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time.
- Ability to converse and hear over the phone and in-person in a professional manner.
Work Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office work environment.
- Very limited physical effort is required.
- Limited exposure to physical risk.
