Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for:

1. Interpreting and applying medical billing codes accurately to ensure correct billing.
2. Analyzing and verifying all charges to ensure accurate billing data.
3. Running and interpreting complex reports to identify billing errors and inconsistencies.
4. Collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies.
5. Implementing strategic plans to improve billing procedures and reduce errors.
6. Training and mentoring staff on new billing procedures and regulations.
7. Providing expert advice on billing practices, rules, and regulations.
8. Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
9. Collaborating with the finance team to reconcile billing issues and ensure accurate financial reporting.
10. Assisting in the development of policies and procedures that improve efficiency and reduce billing errors.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Consulting Medical Billing Specialist role should have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing.
3. Extensive knowledge of medical billing codes and regulations.
4. Proficiency in running and interpreting complex reports.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Proficiency in using medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
10. A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on changes in the healthcare industry.
11. Certification in Medical Billing or related field is preferred.
