Medical Billing Specialist

Monterey Bay GI Consultants and Monterey Bay Endoscopy Center, a growing healthcare organization, is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Patient Account Representative. In this role, you will play a crucial role in our organization by ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient accounts. The position is full time (40 hours per week) and in this role, primary responsibilities include the following. Position is located in our Monterey or Salinas office - not a remote position. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Demonstrate professional communication skills when answering patient phone calls 
• Enter and submit charges
• Accurately update patient demographics
• Call and assist patients regarding past due balances
• Learn about patient insurance coverage and be able to answer questions regarding insurance and billing

Position Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in medical billing 
• Proficiency with computers and various software
• Keyboarding and 10 key skills
• Must have a friendly demeanor and be a positive teamplayer
• Ability to pay attention to detail and multi-task
• Strong work ethic and holds oneself responsible, accountable, and focuses on being dependable and punctual
• Bilingual and biliterate in English/Spanish preferred
• ICD-10: 1 year (Preferred)
• Must be available to work in our offices full time - not a hybrid or remote position

Schedule:

• Days, Monday through Friday, 8 hour shift (no weekends)
