Job Description

Mark Twain Health Care District dBA Valley Springs Health & Wellness Center is seeking a full-time, experienced, Medical Claims Billing Specialist who can lead a team of three billers who work on-site.

*No billing services, please. This is an onsite position only*

This is not an entry level position and there is a person who will assist with training

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of medical billing and revenue cycle experience
Leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and payer reimbursement methodologies
Experience supporting physicians or Medical Directors
Proficiency with EHR, Athena billing systems preferred
Proficient in Excel and various reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in rural health clinics, community health centers, or healthcare districts
Professional billing and strong knowledge of payee guidelines
Experience participating in strategic or cross-functional healthcare initiatives

Applicants need to provide a letter of interest, a resume, and references. Applicants will have two interviews on-site. During the interview the applicant will be given time to ask questions.The position is ONSITE ONLY available starting March 1, 2026. Wages range from $24-$35 per hour, commensurate with billing experience, leadership potential and a successful interview.

Employer benefits include Medical (no deductible), Dental, 401k contributions with variable employer matching, and some paid holidays.

There is opportunity to provide additional duties with increased wages pending initial performance.
