Medical Director (MD/DO) – Wound Care Leadership

Location: Dallas, TX (On-Site)Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PMCompensation: $250,000 annually

You will serve as the regional Subject Matter Expert for Wound Care, supporting a team of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates while strengthening partnerships within SNFs.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide oversight and guidance to a team of ~12 Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates delivering mobile wound care across SNFs.
  • Serve as the regional clinical authority and SME for complex wound cases, treatment planning, and escalation pathways.
  • Review documentation, provide case feedback, and ensure alignment with evidence‑based wound care standards.

Education, Coaching & Development

  • Mentor and develop NPs/PAs through bedside teaching, shadowing, and ongoing clinical coaching.
  • Conduct daily field visits to observe care and reinforce clinical quality expectations.
  • Train SNF nursing staff on wound prevention, advanced wound care protocols, and best practices.

Facility Relationship Building

  • Conduct regular SNF visitations to build trust, strengthen partnerships, and serve as the primary clinical representative.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership—including DONs and nursing teams—to optimize workflows and drive high‑quality outcomes.

Clinical Quality, Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure clinical operations meet state regulations, documentation expectations, and internal compliance protocols.
  • Support quality audits, policy development, documentation review, and process improvement initiatives.

Startup & Operational Contribution

  • Help refine and scale clinical processes, onboarding methods, and best‑practice protocols.
  • Demonstrate strong autonomy, sound judgment, and a patient‑first leadership style.
  • Play a key role in shaping a culture centered on integrity, excellence, and compassionate care.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license.
  • Board certification.
  • 2+ years of wound care experience.

Experience

  • Significant wound care experience required.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience mentoring or overseeing NPs/PAs highly desired.

Availability & Work Style

  • Full‑time availability.
  • Willingness to travel daily across the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area.
  • Comfortable operating in a startup‑like environment with evolving processes.
  • Strong moral compass, humility, and collaborative leadership style.

Technical & Administrative

  • Proficient with EMR/EHR documentation standards.
  • Reliable transportation for multi‑site travel.
  • Ability to maintain a productive home office when not in the field.
