Job Description

Position: Medical Education Specialist, Req# 1042 Location: Fremont, CA (100% onsite) Full Time Job Description: The Medical Education Specialist will manage all customer-facing technologies, labs, and events for the client’s medical education strategy. This individual will have responsibility for KOL needs assessment inputs, event planning, and event documentation in alignment with the compliance processes within the client. This individual will also lead and create training for our internal teams, customers, and surgeons in the safe and effective use of our technology. You will wear many hats in this hands-on role, including content development, customer experience, and maintenance of peer-to-peer events, clinical technology, and R&D/Commercial education initiatives within the organization. This position will be based in the Fremont, CA office. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in equivalent field required, clinical degree/ credentials in a related field (i.e., adult learning). 4+ years clinical and medical/sales education experience. 3+ years of demonstrated success in developing training program curriculum & content. Ability to identify and implement appropriate instructional techniques and tools for a given audience, such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, Quick Start Guides, videos, e-learning, etc. Demonstrate high-impact teaching and presentation skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to quickly build long-term relationships with internal and external parties. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand, and competently relay information. Excellent leadership skills. Experience in and the ability to work in a compliance-oriented and regulated environment. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards. Attendance and Punctuality are essential functions of the position. Preferred: Lab management experience and orthopedics experience. Physical activities include, but not limited to constant manual dexterity, moving about the work site, and/or handling objects weighing up to 20 lbs. Other infrequent physical activities include, but not limited to, positioning self to complete assigned tasks, and ascending/descending floors and/or ladders. Occasionally work around moving mechanical parts. Must be able to work in a schedule that is commensurate with business operation, including work during weekends, holidays and/or times outside of normal business hours. Must be able to travel as business necessitates (up to 30%). Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of clinical technology training programs for internal teams and customers, with a focus on enhancing clinical proficiency and customer success. Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality training materials that meet regulatory, legal, and compliance standards. Conduct needs assessments and create audience-specific curricula aligned with business goals, learning objectives, and quality benchmarks. Manage and facilitate peer-to-peer learning experiences, including surgical observations and virtual observation initiatives, to promote effective surgeon and staff training. Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, stakeholders, and external vendors to support a robust Medical Education program aligned with strategic business objectives. Drive project initiatives by managing resources, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful program execution. Gather and analyze post-training feedback to continuously improve educational offerings and adapt programs based on insights and lessons learned. Oversee a comprehensive lab program encompassing bioskills labs, tradeshows, product demonstrations, customer training, and preclinical studies. Plan and execute all aspects of onsite lab events, including logistics coordination, facility selection, vendor negotiations, catering, and event management. Ensure continuous improvement and standardization of lab operations through cross-functional collaboration and process optimization. Manage cadaveric tissue, lab equipment, and instrumentation to ensure alignment with lab protocols and training objectives. Coordinate logistics and support for commercial initiatives such as industry events, VIP visits, and sales demonstrations. Partner with the sales team to prioritize activities that maximize business impact and enhance customer engagement. Schedule and lead meetings with key stakeholders, including implant partners, sales, and engineering teams, to align on goals and execution plans. Review vendor proposals, manage contracts, and reconcile invoices to ensure cost-effective and compliant operations. Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills while managing multiple programs simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
