NOW HIRING!! A-Line is seeking a dedicated Health Information Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play an essential part in managing and organizing medical records and reports, ensuring all health information is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations. Location: Marysville, OH Pay: $15-17/hr Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible hours between these times to complete an 8-hour workday) No weekends or holidays
Active CPR or BLS Certification is required to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile health information by reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness.
- Organize medical reports for placement in files and review charts to ensure all reports and signatures are present.
- Prepare and type health information forms, including charts for new admissions, request forms, and specific reports or certificates.
- Compile and type statistical reports (daily and monthly census, Medicaid days, admissions, discharges, length of stay).
- File reports into health information records and maintain logs and files.
- Retrieve health information records when needed.
- Provide information from health information records after determining appropriateness of request.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding health information records procedures.
Major Worker Characteristics:
- Knowledge of health information technology.
- Understanding of JCAH and Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing medical record keeping.
- Familiarity with requirements for maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong skills in using word processors, calculators, and basic office equipment.
- Ability to manage problems with few variables and follow standard procedures to write routine business letters, evaluations, or records.
- Ability to proofread medical reports and recognize errors.
- Ability to identify missing medical records information and gather, collate, and classify information about data, people, or things.
Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment:
- 3 courses or 9 months of experience in records management.
- 1 course or 3 months of experience in medical terminology.
- 1 course or 3 months of experience in typing.
- OR an equivalent combination of the above qualifications.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be computer literate and comfortable using office software.
- This role involves a significant amount of walking throughout the facility.
