Medical Intelligence Operations Analyst

Amentum is seeking a driven and professional Medical Intelligence Operations Analyst to work on the US PACOM Command Surgeon’s Decision Support Team (DST). This position serves as the DST's senior medical-intelligence specialist and primary interface with the US PACOM J2 intelligence enterprise regarding biosurveillence and related threats. The Analyst assesses foreign medical capabilities, emerging diseases, biological threats, biosecurity, biosafety, and related scientific developments. General all-source experience without medical-intelligence expertise is insufficient. Assigned to the PACOM Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC), the position directly supports Command Surgeon (J07), receives functional priorities from J07 through established contract channels, operates with project and technical oversight from Science and Technology Division (S&T) - J85, and reports administratively to the Amentum Project Lead. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct medical-intelligence analysis of worldwide health, medical, biological, biosecurity, and biosafety issues affecting the US PACOM AOR.
• Assess foreign medical capabilities, emerging diseases, biological warfare and bioterrorism threats, medical research, and scientific or technological developments.
• Fuse classified intelligence, medical reporting, scientific research, public-health data, open sources, and partner reporting.
• Identify indicators, trends, anomalies, intelligence gaps, and implications for force health, readiness, and mission risk.
• Maintain awareness of US PACOM plans and operations; assess and forecast medical-intelligence implications for current and anticipated missions.
• Serve as the DST interface with J2, DIA, the National Center for Medical Intelligence, and other Intelligence Community organizations.
• Produce assessments and briefings consistent with analytic standards, classification requirements, and dissemination controls.
• Provide findings to the Operations Planner for integration with epidemiology, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) analysis, Force Health Protection, and operational plans.
• Participate in intelligence exchanges, working groups, exercises, and bilateral or multilateral biosurveillance activities.
• Test the Biosurveillance Information Platform and provide intelligence-specific findings for Military Utility Assessments and recommendations.
• Translate intelligence-user needs into requirements for technical feeds, dashboards, alerts, and workflows; coding is not required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree, or equivalent education, intelligence training, military education, and directly related experience.

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to complete a polygraph examination if required. Note:  US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible intelligence analysis, including at least 2 years conducting medical intelligence analysis.
• Medical-intelligence experience involving health threats, foreign medical capabilities, emerging diseases, biological threats, or scientific and technical intelligence.
• Working knowledge of DIA analytic tradecraft, product standards, and style requirements and Intelligence Community Directives 203 and 206.
• Ability to fuse medical, scientific, and intelligence information into products suitable for senior Department of War (DoW) leaders.
• Familiarity with military planning and ability to work with military planners; strong analytic writing, briefing, and classified-information handling skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Degree.
• Medical-intelligence experience within the last 5 years; Military Intelligence Integrated Database (MIDB)/Machine-Assisted Analytic Rapid-Repository System (MARS) or comparable database experience.
• Education or professional experience in medicine, biology, epidemiology, public health, microbiology, or another health field.
• Combatant Command, JIOC, DIA, National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI), biosafety, or biological-research-facility experience.
• Indo-Pacific experience and familiarity with AI-enabled tools, Maven Smart System, or biosurveillance platforms.
• Deep understanding of global infectious diseases, endemic pathogens, biosafety/biosecurity standards (BSL-3/BSL-4), and emerging dual-use biotechnology.
• Thorough knowledge of State/Non-State biological warfare (BW) doctrine, weaponization methods, and bioterrorism threat vectors.
• Familiarity with foreign medical infrastructure, health surveillance capabilities, and foreign military medical readiness.
• Mastery of ICD 203 (Analytic Standards) and ICD 206 (Sourcing Requirements & Dissemination).
• Familiarity with the National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI) operations, reporting workflows, and production frameworks.
• Working knowledge of Joint Staff and Combatant Command (CCMD) intelligence directorate structures (specifically J2, J3/JOC, J07, and J85).
• Working knowledge of public health infrastructure, endemic disease landscapes, and biosecurity policies across the Indo-Pacific Area of Responsibility (AOR).
• Familiarity with regional adversaries' S&T modernization efforts and state-sponsored life sciences research programs.
• Understanding of Force Health Protection (FHP) policies, Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), and how medical intelligence integrates into OPLANs/CONPLANs.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $155K - $180K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
