Job Description

Medical Laboratory Scientist (Blood Bank/Transfusion)

Location: Durham, NC area

Type: Full-time, permanent position

Shift: To be determined during the interview process

Responsibilities:

Conduct a variety of patient tests and provide administrative support for clinical operations within the healthcare facility
Perform blood bank testing, such as Type and Screen, Antibody Identification, DAT, Eluate, Phenotyping, and Antigen Typing
Manage product modifications including syringe aliquots and irradiation
Demonstrate expertise in following protocols for Massive Transfusion Protocols (MTP) and emergency release

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Prior experience working in blood bank or transfusion services

Salary Range:

$26 to $45 per hour
