What matters most

To excel in the role of a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT)at Southwest Health System, Inc., candidates must possess a minimum of an Associate of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology. While 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist is preferred, motivated individuals looking to grow in the field are also encouraged to apply. National certification from ASCP or AMT, or eligibility for certification, is essential to demonstrate proficiency in laboratory practices.

Additionally, holding current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR will ensure preparedness to handle any situation that may arise in the healthcare setting. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Minimum of a Associate of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT)
Chemistry or Biology.
1-3 years Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) experience preferred.
National certification ASCP or AMT or eligible.
Current certification in BLS CPR.
