Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs complex laboratory testing and analysis to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, independent judgment, and responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high complexity laboratory testing across multiple disciplines (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, immunology)
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results and report findings
- Ensure quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments
- Train and mentor laboratory staff and students
- Assist in developing and updating laboratory procedures
- Communicate critical results to healthcare providers
