Job Details
We are seeking an associate to join our litigation team with a focus on defending professional liability matters involving healthcare providers and institutions. This role provides the opportunity to work on complex, high-exposure cases that require a strong grasp of both legal strategy and technical subject matter.
You will be involved in all phases of litigation, from early case assessment through resolution, and will work closely with experienced attorneys on case strategy and execution. The position offers meaningful responsibility early on, with the expectation that you will take an active role in managing matters and interacting with clients.
Responsibilities
Handle a range of litigation matters involving professional liability and related claimsConduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other court filingsParticipate in depositions, hearings, and case strategy developmentAssist with discovery, including document review and managementPrepare cases for trial, including witness preparation and trial supportCollaborate with team members and contribute to overall case strategy
Qualifications
At least 2 years of litigation experience in a law firm or similar environmentStrong research, writing, and analytical abilitiesExperience with civil litigation processes, including discovery and motion practiceExposure to defense-side work or complex litigation is a plusBackground or interest in healthcare-related matters is preferred
Requirements
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdictionAbility to manage multiple matters efficiently and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication skills, both written and verbalTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to work independentlyCommitment to developing litigation skills and professional growth
