Job Description:
TheMedical OncologyMedical Assistantcoordinatesclinical care, including direct and indirect patient care,andassiststhe clinical supervisor and physicians in infection control, inventory, and equipment maintenance. The medical assistant’s role is toassistunder the authorized delegation of physicians.
PrimaryDuties &Responsibilities:
Preparesdaily exam rooms in the clinical area for patient care, including stocking all necessary supplies.
Escorts patients to exam rooms, taking the required vital signs and obtaining urine specimens;performsdip and automated urinalysis and microscopic preparation and review whenindicated.
Triage patient calls for pharmacy requests, test results, medicalquestions,and concerns as directed by the physician;documentoutcomes in EHR.
Assistsin the maintenance of all logs and records for OSHA/MOSHA.
Adheres to and follows sterilization and disinfection practices throughout the facility.
Adheres to bio-hazardous or red bag waste policy and procedure for properly disposing ofbiomedical waste.
Maywelcome and greet all patients and visitors in person or over the phone.

Qualifications:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program or one year of Medical Assistant experience in a medical clinic is. Urologyexperience is a plus.
Proficiencyin triaging patients, phlebotomy, administering injections, obtaining vitals, and processing specimens.

Proficient knowledge of medical terminology,ICD,and CPT Codes.
Strong communicationskills, both verbal& written.
Proficient computer software and database skills.
Comfortablespeaking on the phone andworking in a fast-paced environment.
Very comfortableasking probing questions to patients.
Mustdemonstratea caring, compassionate, and patientattitude.
Maintain HIPAA compliance.
Multitasking and proactiveproblem-solving.
A high levelof professionalism.
Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
Travel:
As part of yourposition’srequirements, you are expected to travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region.
Physical Requirements for theJob:
Must be able tolisten,sit, stand, bend, stoop,and walkthroughoutthe day.
Frequently lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Must be in good physical conditiontomaneuver patients whennecessary.
Job Type:Full-TimePay Range:$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level,and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which theposition islocated,in accordance withapplicable laws.This position has no close date.
