This is a full-time position for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and provides exceptional customer service.Position SummaryAs the first point of contact for our patients, the Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional experience. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, answering phones, verifying patient information, collecting payments, and ensuring the efficient flow of the front office.Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general inquiries.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation.
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances while following applicable billing guidelines.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Protect patient privacy by following HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with clerical and administrative duties, including filing, scanning, and document management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area.
- Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient care.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical office or medical reception experience preferred.
- Front desk experience in a healthcare setting required.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.
- Behavioral health experience preferred.
- Proficient with computers and basic office software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
- Professional, dependable, and customer service-oriented.
- Enjoys working with people and providing exceptional customer service.
- Communicates professionally and compassionately.
- Can effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a busy office.
