Job Description:

Beacon has an excellent opportunity available within our clinic as a Medical Records Specialist. If you are looking for exciting, flexible, and stimulating work with meaningful advancement opportunities available, then consider Beacon the right place for you! 

Duties Include:

  • Ensures medical records are organized, accurate, complete, and safeguarded in compliance with HIPAA standards.

  • Prepares patient charts and gathers required information and documents from patients.

  • Creates digital copies of paperwork and files records electronically in the facility’s database.

  • Processes medical records for patient admissions and discharges.

  • Operates computer, scanner, fax, copier, and uses multiple medical software programs.

  • Provides backup coverage for Reception and New Patient Coordinator as needed.

  • Has strong communication skills, is detail-oriented and organized. 

  • Performs work in a professional, compassionate manner and provides excellent customer service. 

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
