Reports To: MSL Team Lead, Head of US Field Medical
About This Role:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-facing role focused on developing and maintaining professional clinical/scientific relationships with external medical experts including pediatric neurologists, neuromuscular specialists, and neurologists, who are involved in the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
As the clinical and medical expert on the company’s products and therapeutic areas, our MSLs build long-term relationships and establish rapport with clinicians in hospitals, clinics, and academic centers through highly scientific product and disease state discussions that support the safe and effective utilization of ITF’s therapies.
This position will play a key role in supporting ITF’s medical affairs goals by contributing to internal initiatives such as ad boards, speaker training, and clinical insights projects.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in rare neuromuscular diseases, with a preference for prior experience in DMD. Comfort navigating complex scientific conversations, working autonomously in the field, and contributing to a collaborative and close-knit medical affairs team is essential.
This role supports care centers in KS, MO, NE, IA, SD, ND, MN, WI, and IL
What You'll Do:
- Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with pediatric neurologists, neuromuscular specialists, and other key medical experts at major care centers
- Engage in scientific exchange with healthcare professionals around clinical and research data, while capturing field insights to drive the evolution of strategic plans
- Deliver fair-balanced and objective clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare professionals (HCPs), payors, and patient organizations in response to unsolicited requests for information on the use of company products.
- Serve as a core liaison to key institutions, supporting ongoing and future clinical studies and scientific collaborations.
- Attend national and regional medical meetings and symposia to engage in discussion and cultivate professional relationships
- Collaborate with external medical experts on medical affairs initiatives, including publications, medical education opportunities, and training as appropriate
- Assist in the preparation and execution of scientific materials for marketed and pipeline assets, including delivering compelling presentations, assisting with slide preparation/review, and facilitating interactive discussion groups
Who You Are:
You are an experienced professional with a passion for building and sustaining trusted clinical and scientific relationships with external medical experts. You have a strong track record of designing and delivering engaging, informative training programs that keep teams aligned with the latest medical insights and industry best practices. You bring an analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills, allowing you to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines. - This position requires overnight and weekend travel, up to 75%. In addition to travelling within the territory, overnight and/or weekend travel outside of the assigned territory is required as needed to support the team

- Preferably 8-10 years of related and progressive experience in pharmaceutical/biotech company, clinical, and/or academic areas, including 3-5 years in the field and/or in Medical Affairs
- Experience supporting Duchenne muscular dystrophy, neuromuscular disorders, genetics, rare and/or orphan products
- Experience supporting rare or ultra‑rare disease therapeutics across clinical development and commercial stages is highly desirable
