How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

Provides support to carry out the duties of the Medical Staff Services Department.  Provides initial, reappointment, and updating privileging functions; Provides support and documentation of Medical Staff Services activities, enabling the Medical Staff to fulfill their duties and obligations in accordance with Bylaws/Policies/Procedures

  • Acts independently to review and assess provider initial and reappointment applications for completion and to identify privileging concerns
  •     Participates in a team approach to ensure timely processing of privileging actions Supports Medical Staff through assisting with updating policies and keeping policy manual current.
  •     Maintains medical staff data files in compliance with the Joint Commission standards.Utilizes credentialing/privileging software and ancillary software to ensure processes are electronic to its fullest capability
  •     Coordinates all aspects of privileging, including appointment and reappointment for Medical Staff and Advanced Clinical Providers.  
  •     Collaborates with CCVS for completeness of credential files. Queries the National Practitioner Data Bank and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Medical Staff Services.

What We Require:

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.Experience: Three years experience in an in an office setting, preferably within an acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software. Previous work with a Medical Staff Services or credentialing preferred.Licensure/Certifications/Registration: CPCS certification preferred.Other Minimum Qualifications: Computer skills in Microsoft package and data base management. Ability to problem solve and work under pressure required. Highly organized and able to simultaneously manage numerous tasks/projects within established timeframes. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to be flexible. Good interpersonal communication, both verbal and written. AHA BLS- HCP required within 6 months of hire.
