HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families and communities for health, justice and hope. Lutheran Community Services Northwest, a non-profit human services agency, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician for our Juvenile Justice Center program in Kennewick, WA. The role involves conducting mental health assessments, crisis management, case planning, and coordinating services for youth in detention with mental health needs. The ideal candidate should be mission-driven, collaborative, and compassionate, willing to work flexible hours, and committed to providing hope and healing to youth while respecting all individuals' sensitivities and backgrounds.

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and provide crisis management services to detained youth with identified mental health needs, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.Actively coordinate and facilitate referrals to behavioral health services, collaborating with external providers and agencies to ensure the holistic well-being of detained youth with behavioral health concerns.Offer expert guidance and support to detention staff and Juvenile Probation Counselors, providing critical information and strategies to address the safety and emotional needs of youth with mental health challenges.Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring that all paperwork and reports are completed accurately and in strict compliance with contractual obligations.Cultivate a culture of open and professional communication among team members, actively fostering a positive and supportive staff network.Collaborate effectively with colleagues while adhering to the established personnel policies and administrative practices of both LCSNW and the Benton County Juvenile Justice Center, fostering a culture of cooperation and teamwork to ensure seamless service delivery.Embrace and demonstrate unwavering respect for the values, preferences, beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and identities of the youth, families, and communities served, promoting inclusivity and sensitivity in all interactions.

HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:

(2) years of related professional experience; in social or behavioral healthExcels in serving and fiercely advocating for diverse and marginalized populationsAdheres to and applies established operational processes in a timely, appropriate wayThrives in a diverse and multicultural environmentMaster's in social or behavioral science or related field.Counselor Agency Affiliated Registration is required within (90) days of hire.Fluency in English and both spoken and writtenIntermediate mastery of Google Suite and Microsoft 365 applicationsDemonstrates resilience, awareness and self-regulation in navigating challenges, conflict and obstacles/barriers.Workswith cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance end-user experiences throughout the service lifecycle.Successfully completes tasks in a moderately noisy, secure environment.Interacts with others and performs tasks in-person and through the use of technology, with moderate periods of stationary activity and moderate periods of increased physical activity including and not limited to walking on concrete floors.Moves equipment/materials weighing up to 25 pounds.Travels between worksites occasionallyWorks in a variety of settings, including and not limited to LCSNW office locations, partner agency and community-based settings, and faith-based settings such as churchesMeets LCSNW criminal background clearance requirements; additional background clearance completed by job site administration required for work in a secure, criminal justice setting
