Job Summary:
Position Summary
This position is responsible for:
The mental health initiatives and educational outreach that are reflective of the collaborative well-being programs on the Auraria Campus
Clinical Intervention that includes direct client services, and crisis management
Coordination between the Health Center at Auraria and tri-institutional entities such as counseling centers, CARE teams, case management and other departments that involve mental health related services on the Auraria Campus
Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 - 5
Duties/Responsibilities
- Well-being initiatives and educational outreach that are reflective of the collaborative well-being goals of the Auraria Campus.
Tri-institutional mental health program administration for students, faculty and staff on the Auraria Campus
Collaboration/oversight on mental health initiatives, strategies and activities
Assessment of all mental health services at HCA and compilation/analysis of data
Reporting as applicable and required
Serves as an outreach liaison with the campus community collaborating with various campus departments and student groups
Participates in outreach programs, screening events, activities, tabling and services, raising awareness and destigmatization of mental health services and issues, as well as the promotion of well-being through engagement of the campus community
- Clinical Intervention that includes direct client services and crisis management.
Provision of clinical services, including nicotine cessation counseling
Administrative management and oversight of the 24/7 crisis line service provider.
Provides consultative services to other departments on campus regarding behavioral health issues, including training for staff and academic presentations
Debriefing Health Center staff after a crisis and presentations on specific topics targeting certain populations as needed
Develops CARE team collaboration strategies and support as requested
Collaborate with other off-campus services and programs developing community referral resources
Development of clinical resources/handouts for clients of clinical providers and for use by professional staff
Assists Health Center behavioral health clinicians and medical providers, providing clinical services/assessments and support as assigned, utilizing appropriate clinical documentation and follow-up, with adherence to all Health Center at Auraria medical and accreditation standards
Serve as a case coordinator or manager as assigned, providing professional clinical services and coordination of care and/or determination for most appropriate services.
- Health Center administrative leadership team member.
Works in coordination with the Medical Director of Behavioral Health to provide oversight of mental health operations, requiring independent decision making, staff guidance and direction, project assignments and special initiatives, operational logistics, public relations and customer service
Coordination with marketing staff on publicity materials, educational resources and editing/proofing of such materials,
Community relations with external contacts,
Management of contract personnel in coordination with the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, Executive Director and Associate Director of Operations and Well-Being Finances
Participates in committees and task forces when assigned
Remains current in knowledge of the latest developments/trends in mental health and health education, including evidence based best practices and the use of validated assessment tools/strategies
Manages and coordinates Auraria Campus mental health meetings with institutional partners
Participates in a variety of meetings, planning sessions, professional development activities, and special projects
Use of technology to assist with achieving the goals associated with this position
Adherence to Federal HIPAA/FERPA regulations and requirements, ensuring patient confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
Must be able to triage effectively. Provide short-term care for acute stabilization of needs and appropriate referrals as needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and affability
Should be comfortable with public speaking
Ability to establish and effectively maintain working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Strong time management skills, self-directed and flexible
Must provide clear, concise and timely clinical documentation with EHR based on clinic expectations.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and in person at the Auraria Campus in Denver, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Rank at the time of appointment will be based on the candidate's demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical, research, and/or service to the field. We welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds and accomplishments and encourage individuals to highlight the breadth and depth of their professional impact.
Instructor or Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice
A graduate-level psychological counseling-related degree
Minimum 2 years of clinical counseling experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a medical health care setting
Experience in higher education setting
Crisis management experience
LCSW, LSW, LMFT, MFTC, LPC

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Instructor/Sr. Instructor: $60,000 - $77,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
