Job Description
Location: 1426 North 5th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53083Reports to Crisis Services Program ManagerProgram: Crisis Services, Sheboygan County FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Range: $20 - $23Openings: 2 part-time / 28 hours per week Job Summary:This position is designed for individuals pursuing a degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field who are interested in gaining hands-on exposure to crisis services and behavioral processes support program operations and learn from experienced crisis staff while developing foundational skills in the behavioral health field. Essential Functions:
- Answering crisis line calls and escalating high-risk calls immediately to crisis staff.
- Greet and welcome program participants and visitors in a trauma-informed, respectful manner.
- Shadow crisis staff during crisis assessments to gain exposure to crisis response procedures, service coordination, and documentation practices (may co-transport clients when needed).
- Complete follow up calls with clients enrolled in follow-up services and document interactions in SmartCare the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with program procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and program training as needed.
- Provide general administrative support (filing, copying, scanning, data entry, assembling materials) for Mobile Crisis and SIL staff.
- Offer program team support for meal breaks, debriefing opportunities, and other activities as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in regular 1:1 meeting with the assigned Clinical Coordinator for supervision support, and professional development.
- Support scheduling, organization, and special projects as needed.
- Assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance and recordkeeping.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field with Junior or Senior standing required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural competence.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and unpredictable environments while maintaining professionalism and sound judgement.
- Willingness to learn from feedback, participate in team collaboration, and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for Elevate’s mission.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment background check and drug screening required.
