What you bring to the table

  • 8 + years of preconstruction or commercial construction experience with 5+ years of relevant MEP preconstruction / estimating experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Project experience includes Commercial (Office Buildings, Hotels, Religious, Life Science, Mission Critical, and Health-Care Facilities) and Industrial (Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing/Assembly Facilities)

  • Ability to Work Effectively in an Integrated Design / Build Environment

  • Supply-Chain Knowledge (purchasing of MEP equipment from suppliers)

  • Interest in Future MEP Technologies

  • Experienced in provideing MEP, FP, and LV bid packages

  • Experienced in indentifing risk items in the MEP, FP, and LV scopes of work

  • An individual who can independently prepare budget MEP, FP, and LV cost estimates based on incomplete documents

  • An individual who can identify and solicit work from qualified minority subcontractors/vendors

  • Experienced in establishing and maintaining relationships with MEP, FP, and LV subcontractors and vendors

  • An individual who can independently receive and scope MEP, FP, or LV bids in values up to $30M

  • An individual who can identify and lead MEP, FP, and LV cost savings efforts through value engineering

  • An individual who can participate in project pursuit interviews

  • An individual who has a complete understanding of the design process (whether 3rd party or integrated design / build)

  • An individual who has complete understanding of Owner contracts and the obligations contained within them

  • An individual who has complete understanding of Beck subcontracts and purchase orders and the obligations contained within them

  • Experienced in effective management of client relationships

  • An individual who can identify customer's needs and understand their culture

  • An individual who can promote community involvement among team members and participate in community service

  • An individual who actively participates in an industry professional organizations

  • An individual who can oversee and direct the work of their direct reports

Physical Demands:

Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently ascends/descends ladders and stairs; constantly works in various outdoor weather conditions; frequently moves equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site; constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team; ability to constantly move around job site on uneven surfaces; Spends much of the day standing. Ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
