Metal Forming Equipment Operator
Location: Cocoa Beach, FLJob Type: Contract-to-HireShift: 1st ShiftStarting Pay: Up to $27.00/hour (Depending on experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Metal Forming Equipment Operator to join a fabrication team producing structural steel and miscellaneous metal components. This position is responsible for operating press brakes, shears, and other fabrication equipment while ensuring quality, accuracy, and safe material handling throughout the production process.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brakes, shears, and related fabrication equipment to cut and form metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production work orders.
- Measure, mark, and lay out materials using tape measures, squares, levels, and other precision measuring tools.
- Inspect completed parts to verify dimensions and overall quality.
- Move materials safely throughout the shop using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Follow safety procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Work with the production team to meet daily manufacturing goals.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience operating press brakes, shears, or similar metal fabrication equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience with structural steel or miscellaneous metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of layout and precision measuring tools.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to workplace safety.
