Job Description
Metal Polisher – 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Fridays until 10:00 AM, with overtime extending to 2:00 PM as neededPay Rate: $23–$25 per hour, based on experienceExperience Required: Minimum of 5 years of metal polishing experience
We are seeking an experienced Metal Polisher to join our manufacturing team on 1st shift. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of metal polishing and buffing techniques, experience operating polishing equipment, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a production environment. Candidates must be detail-oriented, capable of reading work orders and blueprints, and comfortable using precision measuring tools to ensure quality finishes and specifications are met.
Job Responsibilities
- Understand and apply safe work practices in a manufacturing environment
- Perform metal polishing and buffing operations to achieve required finishes
- Operate and maintain polishing equipment including Lea Wheel and Burlington Belt Sander
- Identify various materials and apply appropriate finishing techniques
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production specifications
- Use measuring equipment including tape measures and calipers to verify dimensions and quality standards
- Set up and operate sand blasting equipment
- Utilize polishing hand tools and related production equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with operation of crane paint room equipment as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 5 years of metal polishing experience required
- Basic math, blueprint reading, and measuring skills required
- Experience using calipers, tape measures, and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
