Job Description

Middle School Baseball Coach

Location: Riverdale, NYSeason Dates: Monday, February 23 – Monday, May 11Note: There is a three-week break from March 16 – April 6

Position Overview

The school is seeking a Middle School Baseball Coach for the upcoming spring season. This role is ideal for a coach who is enthusiastic, positive, and passionate about developing young athletes while preparing them for future success at the JV and Varsity levels.

The coach will be responsible for leading practices, coaching games, and fostering a fun, disciplined, and growth-oriented team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and plan daily practices focused on skill development and fundamentals
  • Coach and manage middle school baseball games
  • Prepare student-athletes for progression to JV and Varsity baseball
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and love for the game
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and transportation
  • Communicate effectively with athletic staff and school administrators

Practice & Game Schedule

  • Practice Days: Monday – Thursday
  • Practice Time: 3:45 PM – 5:45 PM
  • Games: Typically start at 4:15 PM; earlier arrival required for transportation and setup

Compensation

  • Starting stipend: $3,000
  • Compensation increases based on years of coaching experience

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Positive, energetic, and passionate about baseball
  • Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and player development
  • Experience working with middle school or youth athletes preferred
  • Ability to prepare players for JV and Varsity-level baseball
  • Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Riverdale
