This position is perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, staying active, and wants to grow within the manufacturing industry.As a Mill Laborer, you'll support daily operations by handling materials, monitoring equipment, and ensuring safety standards are maintained. You'll work directly in a dynamic sawmill environment, helping to keep production efficient and quality high.What You'll Do As a Mill Laborer, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring conveyor lines to prevent boards from crossing over each other and babysitting the line to ensure smooth operation. *
- Uncrossing and repositioning boards to maintain continuous production safely. *
- Moving sticks from baskets to designated locations to facilitate ongoing operations. *
- Identifying broken or damaged wood during edger picking and separating usable materials from unusable. *
- Supporting overall mill operations as needed to uphold productivity and safety standards.
- High energy and a strong work ethic to excel in a physically demanding environment. *
- Team-oriented mindset and effective communication skills with colleagues. *
- The ability to lift and maneuver 50+ lbs regularly. *
- Reliability and punctuality to ensure consistent operations. *
- Willingness to perform repetitive bending, pulling, pushing, and twisting motions. *
- Comfort working in a physically demanding setting with adherence to safety procedures.
