As a Mill Production Laborer, you'll role purpose. You'll work closely with manager, department, or team to deliver results that make a difference.What You'll Do As a Mill Production Laborer, you will be responsible for:• Reach forward, pick up individual sheets of veneer with one or both hands, and move them forward several inches so they can be picked up by veneer dryer rollers.• Move back and forth on a platform as needed while pushing sheets forward and properly aligning them to the receiving end of the dryer.• Remove veneer overlaps, ensure sheets are fed individually, and discard wane sheets when necessary.• Maintain the proper amount of veneer fed during each dryer cycle according to production requirements and supervisor expectations.• Operate pedals and controls to move green veneer onto a scissors platform and maintain a comfortable working height.• Assist with clearing machine jams and plug-ups while following all Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and utilizing manual machine controls safely.• Rotate to other dryer positions for cross-training, production support, and employee break coverage as directed by supervisors.• Assist maintenance personnel and co-workers with basic maintenance procedures and dryer plug-up removal.• Perform weekly maintenance tasks, including greasing and oiling machine components to ensure proper equipment operation.• Complete routine dryer cleanings, including removing machine parts, washing debris from equipment, shoveling and sorting waste materials, and reinstalling cleaned components.• Perform cleanup duties during downtime, shift changes, and production interruptions using brooms, rakes, and shovels to remove veneer scrap and debris.What You'll Bring The ideal candidate for this role will have:• Excellent attention to detail.• Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and make sound decisions.• Ability to perform repetitive lifting throughout the shift.• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.• Willingness to work graveyard shifts and weekends.Why Join Us in Glendale?• Get your foot in the door with a highly sought-after employer.• Enjoy affordable health and prescription coverage with no waiting period.• Access employer-sponsored benefits upon permanent hire.• Participate in available retirement plans, including 401(k) and pension options (if applicable).• Take advantage of our Referral Bonus Program and earn extra cash.Location & Schedule: This is an on-site position located in Glendale, Oregon.
