Position Overview
Mission One is seeking Mission Science & Applied Research Analyst to embed scientific expertise into intelligence and operational mission environments. These roles are designed for scientists who can apply deep domain knowledge to real-world intelligence problems—supporting assessments related to CBRN/WMD, environmental and terrain impacts, technical validation, and long-term strategic analysis. This role bridges applied science and intelligence analysis, enabling customers to make informed decisions based on scientifically grounded insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply scientific domain expertise to interpret complex intelligence indicators and data
- Support CBRN/WMD, environmental, terrain, maritime, space, or technical assessments
- Enhance analytic credibility through modeling, scientific baselines, and technical validation
- Collaborate closely with all-source analysts, technical intelligence analysts, and collectors
- Provide expert input into long-term assessments, forecasts, and strategic products
- Deliver clear, decision-ready narratives that translate scientific findings for non-scientific audiences
- Brief senior stakeholders on scientific implications tied to mission objectives

Required Qualifications
- Active security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline(Master’s or PhD often preferred depending on mission scope)

- Experience supporting national security, defense, research, or applied intelligence environments
- Ability to translate complex scientific findings into clear, actionable intelligence narratives
- Strong analytical writing and briefing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior government or defense contracting experience
- Experience contributing to intelligence reporting (directly or in a support role)
- Familiarity with classified research environments or secure analytical workflows
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary intelligence teams
