- Perform dog grooms in a professional manner; ensure each pet is handled safely, kept healthy, and groomed according to breed standards and client preferences;
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, build own customer base, expand professional reputation, and grow income potential;
- Punctual, timely, and efficient completion of services;
- Maintain clean work environment; ensure stations are well-kept, equipment is sanitized, and salon and vehicle remain in excellent condition;
- Accurately enter and update appointment details, grooming notes, client preferences, and pet health information in pet care management software;
- Ability to lift and carry dogs up to 50 lbs;
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods during grooming sessions;
- Comfort working in a mobile grooming unit, which may involve limited space and frequent movement in and out of the vehicle;
- Ability to learn how and execute safely restraining and handling dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and energy levels;
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for grooming tasks such as clipping, scissoring, brushing, and nail trimming;
- Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on weather and grooming van conditions;
- Capability to drive and operate the mobile grooming vehicle, including navigating neighborhoods, parking, and stepping in/out multiple times per day;
- Stamina to perform multiple grooming sessions per day, sometimes with large or heavy-coated breeds.
- Loves animals; particularly dogs.
- Neat and organized.
- Fast learner, solution motivated with the ability to solve problems in the moment with little to no outside input.
- High level of integrity as demonstrated by adherence to policies, procedures, rules and regulations and by professional conduct when dealing with persons internal and external to the business.
- Current drivers’ license with clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- At least 1 year of dog grooming experience with mobile grooming experience highly preferred.
