Mobile Thin Client & Software Product Manager

Description -

The Mobile Thin Client & Software Product Manager’s primary responsibility is defining the experiences, portfolio, and requirements needed to meet HP's goals for Mobile Thin Client platforms and Cloud Computing solutions. The Mobile Thin Client & Software Product Manager applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as the Mobile Thin Client subject matter expert with strong experience in software. The position requires a detailed understanding of Thin Client customer needs and workflows as well as the overarching software and ecosystem experiences. Key driver for the development of forward-looking ideas for Mobile Thin Client devices that best integrate into HP’s solutions and ecosystem framework. 

Works on complex problems where analysis of forward-looking situations requiring an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to hardware and software project teams and participates in cross-functional initiatives. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients as well as HP go-to-market teams. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Own the HP Mobile Thin Client Product Portfolio

  • Define and deliver the HP Mobile Thin Client product roadmap, including product strategy, business strategy, and positioning

  • Drive the definition of the HP Mobile Thin Client product portfolio through development (hardware & software) and go-to-market (GTM) teams through the entire product lifecycle.

  • Gain Mobile Thin Client customer insights by regularly meeting GTM teams and customers

  • Communicate product strategy, key opportunities, and challenges to stakeholders across HP.

  • Provide subject matter expertise with a concise and meaningful understanding of the technical details of Mobile Thin Clients and how they deliver the best solutions experience within the customer's cloud computing ecosystem.

  • Be relentless in raising the bar for customer experience, security, and manageability

2. End-to-End (E2E) Ownership of Cloud Computing Software

  • Translates broad strategic Cloud Computing direction into solutions planning and manages software and services for the Cloud Computing business.

  • Build a software strategy by evaluating trends, insights, feedback from markets and ecosystem partner/competitor portfolios

  • Responsible for crafting integrated hardware-plus-software solutions to deliver end-to-end experiences for cloud-first customers.

  • Drive the definition of their solution through development (hardware & software) and go-to-market (GTM) teams.

  • Communicate solution strategy, key opportunities, and challenges to stakeholders across HP.

  • Gain solutions customer insights by regularly meeting GTM teams and customers

  • Provide subject matter expertise with a concise and meaningful understanding of their solution and how it delivers the best experience within the customer's cloud computing ecosystem.

3. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Own & drive product lifecycle process enhancements to ensure that the overall process can scale with the business.

  • Drive alignment & prioritization with customer-facing markets on solutions roadmap.

  • Own relationship and collaboration with external partners to build a successful solution

  • Drive ongoing planning activities by close collaboration with multiple functions such as engineering, PS software team, services, etc.

  • Own seamless solutions integration into hardware by close collaboration with hardware planning teams.

  • Ensure smooth solutions delivery and monetization by close collaboration with support teams responsible for solutions set-up, ordering, fulfillment, and support.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree

  • Prior experience (5-10 years) in software product management or planning

  • Strong understanding of the cloud computing space and HP offerings/strategy.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Growth mindset

  • Demonstrated management skills, proven experience leading, driving and inspiring cross-functional teams towards a common goal ·

  • Demonstrated experience in solutions product management

  • Demonstrated experience working with external partners, R&D & other support functions

  • Strong influencing and consensus-building skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Understanding of Agile Methodology

The pay range for this role is$105,050to$161,800USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Benefits:HP offers a comprehensive benefits package for this position, including:
