Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is currently seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineering Manager to join our Product Engineering team in Menasha, WI.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Modeling & Simulation Engineering Manager in the R&D group, you will be responsible for the development of advanced modeling and simulation environments for electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems and enclosures used in distributed energy resources and power distribution. Leading a team of M&S engineers and collaborating with subject matter experts, product strategy teams, and systems engineers, your team will create accurate and efficient simulations that meet requirements and support product development. Furthermore, you will develop and oversee the implementation of modeling and simulation processes as critical milestones for development and validation of technologies and products within the Product Engineering organization. Through your expertise, you will play a key role in driving innovation and performance improvements in distributed energy and power distribution systems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Education: Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent
· 10+ years of experience in systems simulation
· Experience with multi-physics modeling software such as Simulink, Simscape, Simcenter Amesim, GT Suite, or similar
· Experience using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to develop models and conduct analysis
· Experience in finite element analysis with use of Ansys, Abaqus, COMSOL or similar software
· Familiarity with development and use of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), model-in-loop (MIL), and software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation platforms
· Strong understanding of renewable energy systems including solar, wind, power, or power distribution concepts including uninterrupted power supply, power converters, switchboards, and other power electronics
· Demonstrated implementation of real-world power generation and distribution problems into complex modeling and simulation platforms
· Demonstrated development and implementation of modular component models with scalable flexibility for various levels of simulation fidelity
· Familiarity with power distribution enclosures including UPS, switchboards, batteries, and power electronics
· Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional modeling and simulation enginering teams
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
· PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering with demonstrated simulation experience, or demonstrated engineering research background
· Experience with machine learning models generated from data
· Experience with development of SIL, MIL, and HIL platforms for verification and validation of controls software
· Strong understanding of controls systems, particularly battery management, thermal system management, and energy management software and development and verification through use of simulation frameworks
· Experience using version control for modeling and simulation including Git or other similar tools
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead a cross-functional modeling and simulation team developing physics-based modeling and simulation environment for a variety of electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems for distributed energy resources and power distribution
· Lead a cross-functional modeling and simulation team developing FEA or CFD simulations of critical components and structures to optimize robustness, cost, and guide product manufacturing
· Strategize product architecture and technology trade studies and optimization to ensure maximized performance and minimal costs through simulation
· Integrate cost, weight, and specification data of components, systems, and renewable energy fuels into simulation models for technoeconomic analysis of architecture options
· Collaborate with subject matter experts to characterize components and systems in a simulation environment and communicate analysis results
· Architect modeling and simulation processes to support development and verification across Product Engineering

WORK SCHEDULE
This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Overtime may be required. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
WORK LOCATION
This role requires work to be done Onsite from our Menasha, WI office. Our onsite roles include a high level of workplace and schedule flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels from high-speed computer printers and other peripherals. Work may involve occasional exposure to moderate manufacturing noise levels from saws, drills, grinders, forklifts, as well as from other power tools.
