Job Description

Who are We?

Brooke Charter Schools is a network of five public charter schools, serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. At Brooke, we coach and invest in our teachers so that they can help our students achieve at the highest levels and graduate from college. We believe academic achievement empowers our students to live choice-filled lives and enhances their ability to contribute to creating a just world. In a culture of achievement, educators support students in recognizing and building on their identities as sources of strength even as they work to grow and achieve in new ways.

What is the Moderate-Severe Special Education Teacher Role?

As a special education teacher in this role, you deliver individual and group instruction to students with moderate to severe special needs in a substantially separate classroom, and build strong relationships with students in order to push them to be their best selves both academically and personally. You design individualized curriculum, write education plans, collect and evaluate data. In this role, you also implement comprehensive behavior support plans, serve as the IEP team chair for a small caseload, and coordinate related services. You collaborate with others to ensure each student is receiving the support they need, including training to paraprofessionals and consulting regularly with specialists or personnel involved in a child's program

Hours for this role are 7:15 am - 4:20 pm daily.

The salary range is $74,000-$130,000, commensurate with experience. Moderate-severe special education teachers will also earn an additional $7,700 stipend for teaching a high-need area.
