- Plan and implement Montessori curriculum and philosophy with lesson and circle prep.
- Prepare and maintain a Montessori environment.
- Use positive reinforcement to help create a calm, respectful environment.
- Assess and record child progress through observation and documentation.
- Present lessons individually, small group, and large group - making sure children are being challenged appropriately.
- Communicate with parents and coworkers in a positive and respectful manner.
- Facilitate parent-teacher conferences twice a year.
- Remain up to date on ECP and with continuing education.
- Training and supervision of new assistant teachers that come into your classroom.
- Classroom management of children.
- Assist children with using the potty and changing accidents as necessary.
- Supervise young children inside and outside.
- Cleaning up after children and doing light chores throughout the day.
- Assisting children with their needs.
- Montessori Certification Preferred.
- Experience caring for children, especially ages 2.5 to 5 years old.
- A passion for working with young children.
- Great at working as a team and with others.
- A friendly nature, patience, and love for children.
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Montessori Certification.
- Hands-on infant, Child, and Adult CPR/First Aid certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Must pass a criminal background check for state licensing requirements.
- Verification of Immunizations (MMR and Tdap).
- Training courses for state licensing requirements within 30 and 90 days of hire.
