Job Summary:
Lendz Financial is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive MortgageCompliance Specialist to join our growing Compliance team. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager, this role plays a vital part in supporting day-to-day compliance operations and ensuring that our lending activities align with all relevant regulatory and internal requirements.
This is an onsite role at our Fort Lauderdale office, where you’ll be part of a collaborative, high-energy environment that values accuracy, integrity, and process improvement.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and is eager to learn and grow within the mortgage compliance space. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to assist with due diligence reviews, state licensing, regulatory audits, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
What You’ll Do
- Support the execution and maintenance of compliance programs, policies, and procedures across all departments.
- Assist in conducting background checks and due diligence reviews on prospective broker partners, including vendor oversight and ongoing third-party risk management.
- Monitor & handle broker escalations and support broker onboarding processes, ensuring timely resolution of issues and a seamless onboarding experience for new partners.
- Help track and maintain accurate records of licensing, renewal dates, and other regulatory deadlines across states and jurisdictions.
- Prepare documentation and assist with internal audits, investor reviews, and regulatory examinations.
- Collaborate with legal, operations, and funding teams to ensure compliance with non-QM lending requirements, while also managing and tracking corporate insurance policies, bonds and ongoing legal matters.
- Monitor and analyze updates to applicable laws and regulations, and support the team in implementing any required changes.
- Help maintain databases and systems for compliance tracking and reporting.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to drafting and updating SOPs and internal guides.
- Coordinate, track, and ensure completion of mandatory compliance trainings
- Work closely with the Human Resources department to support compliance with applicable employment laws and regulatory obligations, including assisting with policy implementation and ensuring proper documentation and recordkeeping in alignment with state requirements and examination standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in mortgage, financial services, or compliance support roles.
- Working knowledge of mortgage lending regulatory requirements at the loan level, including the ability to evaluate loan files for compliance with applicable federal and state laws, disclosure standards, and licensing requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with compliance platforms or CRM tools is a plus.
