Position Overview
As a Mountain Safety Host at Mt. Hood Meadows, you're more than just a presence on the slopes, you're a frontline ambassador of safety, guest service, and mountain culture. This dynamic role places you at the heart of the guest experience, engaging directly with skiers and riders across the mountain to promote responsible behavior, assist with on-hill needs, and foster a safe and enjoyable environment for all.With a strong foundation in advanced skiing or snowboarding, you'll patrol terrain, educate guests on slope safety codes, and support Ski Patrol with incident response and scene management. Whether you're helping a family find their way, de-escalating a tense moment, or setting a positive example on the mountain, your impact is immediate and meaningful.This is a seasonal opportunity for individuals who thrive in alpine environments, are passionate about winter sports, and want to make a difference by combining guest service with safety leadership. This is a Part-Time, Seasonal Position
Qualifications & Experience
18 years of age or olderAdvanced skiing or snowboarding skillsAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditionsExcellent verbal communication skillsDe-escalation experienceExperience enforcing or teaching Policies, Rules or CodesAble to commit to working weekends, evenings and some holidays during the operations seasonMust be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Expert skiing or riding skillsFamiliar with "The Responsibility Code" and "Park Smart"Familiar with Mt Hood Meadows terrainAlpine winter work or volunteer experienceExperience communicating with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences
Compensation:
Wage: $17.25 Hourly
