The Supervisor, MPOWER Program provides day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for the Manifesting Positive Outcomes through Wellness Education and Recovery Program (MPOWER), a SAMHSA-funded initiative serving African American communities. This role ensures high-quality program implementation, staff coordination, community partnerships, and client engagement.
The Supervisor, MPOWER Program plays a key role in supervising program activities, supporting outreach and recruitment efforts, facilitating behavioral health interventions, and ensuring compliance with grant, organizational, and regulatory requirements. The program serves African American same-gender-loving men (ages 25-45) and African American women who have sex with men (ages 18-40), focusing on holistic health, wellness, behavioral health, and HIV prevention.
This is a grant-funded role. While we hope to have a position available after the grant ends, future employment is not guaranteed.

Essential Job Duties
Program Operations & Leadership
- Oversight of daily program operations, timelines, and deliverables.
- Provide functional supervision and guidance to staff, facilitators, and volunteers involved in MPOWER activities.
- Assist with program planning, implementation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Ensure program activities align with grant requirements, organizational standards, and community needs.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Lead and coordinate community outreach efforts to recruit and retain eligible program participants.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external community partners.
- Represent the program at community meetings, events, health fairs, and forums.
- Support marketing and promotional activities in collaboration with agency staff.
Client Services & Facilitation
- Co-facilitate culturally responsive group-level behavioral health interventions (e.g., HHRP).
- Support client engagement through ongoing communication, follow-up, and retention strategies.
- Provide client referrals and crisis case management as needed.
- Conduct HIV/HCV testing, counseling, and referrals in various community and clinical settings.
Data, Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee accurate collection, entry, and maintenance of client and program data.
- Assist with data analysis, reporting, and documentation for funders and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all records are maintained in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Professional Development & Administration
- Lead and/or participate in staff meetings, trainings, and required professional development activities.
- Support ordering of program supplies, management of program tracking tools, and preparation for group sessions and retreats.
- All duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Required and preferred knowledge and experiences to succeed.
Education:
Master's Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HIV, behavioral health, or substance use services within a community-based setting.
Work Experience:
Demonstrated experience working with African American communities and LGBTQ populations.
Experience providing crisis intervention and client-centered case management.
Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STDs, substance use, mental health, and prevention strategies.
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience required.
Technical Experience:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking/reporting systems.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overnights and holidays as needed.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and sound judgment.
Licensure/Certification:
Professional Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling (e.g., CADC)
Valid Government Issued Driver's License required.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
HIV experience in a not-for-profit environment.

Pay Rate:
Starting at $53,000/annually (Depending on Experience)
The final salary will be determined based on factors such as market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications. Please note that it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.
