Job Description

- Acquire order information for the purchase of MR compatible equipment and supplies for various magnets in the NMR Center
- Maintain established protocols with Radiologists at all locations
- Optimize scanning protocols used by investigators
- Identify and correct for artifacts
- Report cryogen levels loss, and usage
- Complete initial training (prior to handling hazardous waste)
- Act as subject/patient advocate monitoring comfort and subject cooperation with experimental protocol, physiological parameters (pulse rate, respiration, O2 saturation) and length of time
- Provide assistance with such tasks as dressing and changing to seriously ill, injured, or disabled patients
- Entered into the NMRF website database and inform the appropriate personnel if any abnormal results are detected
- Lead any audit or inspection activities required in the section and ensure all State of Florida, Federal, ACHA, JC, FDA, ACR, OSHA
- Recommend resources required to meet departmental goals
- Obtain all necessary account information
- Know, understand, and comply with all applicable safety and health standards and rules
- Obtain and record all pertinent clinical information relating to the procedure ordered including but not limited to patient history, pregnancy, allergies, lab tests, correlative procedure results
- Participate in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology and MRI and to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements
- Log all scans performed in the appropriate log book; enter participant/patient data at start of scanning and monitor data acquisition
- Use equipment in safe and effective manner; reporting repairs to appropriate person
- Perform diagnostic procedures under the prescription of the physician
- Provide equipment recommendation to campus directors regarding modalities within expertise
