Our client is a leader in the design and manufacture of custom-engineered pumps and motors for critical applications in power generation, nuclear research, and small modular reactor (SMR) development. They design, engineer, and manufacture to order. To support a large contract with a SMR to custom engineer and manufacture pumps for a new build, they are expanding their Advanced Nuclear Group and have created a new MS Project Scheduler. The person hired into this role will support the successful execution of complex, custom-engineered pump projects for advanced nuclear applications. This role focuses on scheduling for the design through fabrication and testing custom machinery, as well as project performance tracking, data analysis, and reporting, enabling the Project Manager to make informed decisions across scope, schedule, cost, and technical execution. This is a direct-hire position, 100% remote. As this is a new position, compensation is open/negotiable. - Due to Federal Contract requirements, US Citizenship is required for this position.*
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.*
- 5 years of experience in project scheduling for design and production, project coordination, project analysis, within engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments. This is NOT a nuclear outage scheduler must have done scheduling for production/fabrication.*
- Current experience using MS Project, including WBS and EVM.*
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret project data and communicate insights.*
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience supporting large, custom-engineered equipment projects (e.g., pumps, turbines, or industrial systems).*
- Familiarity with nuclear, energy, or other highly regulated industries.*
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering and manufacturing environments.
- Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and task tracking tools.*
- Coordinate inputs from engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure alignment with project milestones.*
- Track progress against plan and proactively identify schedule risks or delays.*
- Support implementation and tracking of corrective actions to keep the project on track.
- Maintain project dashboards and reporting tools that track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule adherence, cost performance, and deliverable status.*
- Analyze project data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks.*
- Prepare regular internal and customer-facing status reports, including progress updates and performance summaries.*
- Support earned value management (EVM) or similar project performance methodologies where applicable.
- Facilitate communication across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and project management teams.*
- Organize and support project meetings as required, including agenda preparation, documentation of action items, and follow-up tracking.*
- Ensure alignment between technical execution and project schedule requirements.*
- Track dependencies between teams and escalate conflicts or constraints as needed.
- Support the Project Manager in tracking project changes, including scope adjustments, design revisions, and schedule impacts.*
- Maintain logs of engineering changes, decisions, and project assumptions to ensure traceability.*
- Assist in evaluating the impact of changes on project timelines and deliverables (without owning contractual modifications).
- Maintain project risk and issue logs, ensuring items are documented, prioritized, and actively managed.*
- Support risk analysis by gathering data and coordinating with technical and functional teams.*
- Track mitigation actions and provide visibility into risk status.
- Maintain organized project records, including schedules, reports, meeting notes, and action logs.*
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of project data across systems and reports.*
- Support project audits and internal reviews by providing structured project information.
