Job Description

The Peel Compton Foundation is looking for a Museum Gift Shop Clerk at the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden! If you love history and enjoy connecting with visitors, this is the perfect job for you.About the Position Join our team as a part-time Museum Gift Shop Clerk! Based in the historic Andy Lynch Log Cabin at the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, this role reports directly to the Museum Manager.General Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to museum visitors and store customers
Greet museum visitors and capture their information before tours
Perform open and closing duties for the store and other areas of the property
Monitor inventory levels and product expiration, along with general merchandising ensuring that products are displayed appropriately and are attractive to customers
Price and stock new inventory in a timely manner
Ensure the store is clean and inviting to customers
Meet monthly sales goals

Who we are seeking:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a retail environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
Works well independently and with light supervision
Experience using POS and inventory management software
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
Successfully pass a background check and drug screening
Must be able to work some weekends and occasional holidays
