Music Instructor - After School Program

St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School

Our strong commitment to music education is fundamental to our mission of developing well-rounded students through both goodness and knowledge, and we work hard to find instructors who are experts in their instrument and passionate about working with students in grades 3-6. As part of our After School Program, you'll have the opportunity to work with students in a supportive, academically-focused environment that extends the learning day beyond traditional classroom hours.

What You'll Do:

As a Music Instructor in our After School Program, you will create an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment where students thrive. You will:

Teach private music lessons to students in grades 3-6 with varying skill levels and musical backgrounds.

Build positive relationships with students and families through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates that reflect our mission of fostering both goodness and knowledge.

Collaborate with Extended Day Program staff to coordinate lesson scheduling and support student engagement in our after-school community.

Share your musical expertise to inspire young learners and foster their growth as both musicians and well-rounded individuals.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
2 years of music teaching experience, preferably with elementary-aged students.
Experience working with children in grades 3-6.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degrees (Master's or Doctoral) in Music.
Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
5+ years of teaching experience with elementary students.
Expertise in multiple instruments including: cello, clarinet, flute, saxophone, piano, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, viola, violin, and percussion.
Experience in after-school or extended day programs.
Familiarity with elementary music curriculum and age-appropriate teaching methods.
