Job Description:
Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Natural Gas Marketing Trader in Midland, TX. This position is responsible for managing the physical natural gas portfolio downstream of the plant tailgate, executing daily and term transactions, and optimizing transportation and market access. This role partners closely with Scheduling, Risk, Accounting, Legal, and Operations to ensure safe, compliant, and value-driven commercialization of Permian Resources’ natural gas production.
General Responsibilities
Manage the physical natural gas portfolio, including daily cash execution, term positions, and market optimization.
Execute physical gas transactions utilizing pipeline transportation, pooling, and interconnect optionality.
Oversee in-house scheduling to ensure accurate nominations, confirmations, and allocations across intrastate and interstate pipelines.
Identify and capture daily and structural optimization and arbitrage opportunities.
Coordinate counterparty onboarding and commercial readiness, including NAESB agreements and collaboration with Legal, Credit, and Risk.
Support daily P&L reporting, exposure management, and monthly settlement processes.
Utilize commercial systems and data tools (ICE/WebICE, ICE Chat, ETRM) to support execution, visibility, and controls.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support scalable desk operations and mentor junior commercial resources as needed.
Execute hedging and financial transactions on behalf of the company in accordance with approved risk management strategies and trading policies.
Trade futures, swaps, collars, and cash market instruments across crude oil, natural gas, and NGLs.
Execute transactions via regulated exchanges and over-the-counter (OTC) markets.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Experience in physical natural gas marketing, trading, or commercial scheduling.
Working knowledge of Texas intrastate and interstate pipeline systems and pool structures.
Strong commercial judgment, analytical skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Experience executing hedges under a formal risk management or hedge policy framework.
Exposure to hedge documentation, confirmations, and coordination with Risk, Accounting, or Compliance teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building or scaling a physical gas marketing desk.
Familiarity with settlement processes and volume accounting.
Experience supporting or mentoring junior traders or schedulers.
